Talking Sticks

Talking sticks are used in many traditional cultures as instruments of community conflict resolution.  Traditionally handmade of wood, they are often passed down through generations, holding significant cultural meaning.  Using them in facilitation of conversations encourages deep listening and ensures everyone’s voice is heard.

Gifting Talking Sticks

Building on John Paul Lederach's thoughts and practice, Talking Sticks for Peace expands the web of gifting talking sticks by opening avenues for you to nominate your peacebuilder friends and colleagues to receive a talking stick, hand made by one of the Talking Sticks for Peace team intentionally and specifically for them.
