Supporting Those Who Build Peace

Accompaniment for peacebuilders, the organizations they work in, and the communities they serve, at the pace the work requires.

Peacebuilding is long work, visioned, created, and carried by people. We support peacebuilding organizations, individual peacebuilders, and community groups as they work in difficult contexts.

We define peace broadly. We work toward positive peace: not only the end of violence, but the relationships and structures that let people and communities thrive. Our practice has been shaped by the work of John Paul Lederach and others who came before us, and by our own experience. We are grounded in theory and forged in practice.

Facilitation is our main way of working. We hold space for people to wrestle with deep issues, find new perspectives on their contexts, and work out their own way forward. We start with what the room already knows, and aim for people to ultimately be able to continue without us.

What It Can Look Like

Fresh Perspectives:

  • Space for people working in conflict contexts to step back, think creatively, and see their conflict and context in new ways.

Conflict, Context, & Systems Analysis:

  • Helping teams and organizations understand the conflict, context, and systems they work within.

Facilitation & Accompaniment for Peacebuilding Teams & Organizations:

  • Strategic planning, team process, and problem solving, with long-term accompaniment as you need it.

Convening, Dialogue, & Multi-Stakeholder Facilitation:

  • Bringing people together across different perspectives and interests to work through complex issues and find shared direction.

Retreats, Trainings, & Master Classes:

  • Resilience, leadership, and trauma-informed practice for peacebuilders, including processes that equip participants to lead similar work in their own contexts and languages.

Holding Space for the Next Generations

Our peacebuilding practice has been sustained by elders who convened us, connected us, and held the space for us to grow. As that generation steps back and the gaps between generations widen, it is our turn to take up this work and hold space for those who are rising now. It has never been more important to convene peacebuilders, foster connections, and support growth in leadership, trauma-informed practice, and personal resilience.

Peace Is Long Work

If you’re building peace in a difficult context, we can walk alongside you for the long term.
